CODE FOR SUSTAINABLE HOMES
Developers of new build homes are increasingly required to consider the sustainability of a development during its conception, construction and during its occupied use.

The Code for Sustainable Homes is a wide ranging form of environmental assessment applicable to new build residential developments. The code assesses each building on a number of environmental principles. Points are awarded against each principle with an overall level between 1and 6 given at the end of the process.

ENVIRONMENTAL STABILITY
Some developers choose to use the code as a marketing tool as even a level 1 rating shows a significant improvement over building control minimum requirements. Overall the code offers a stand out badge of environmental stability both in the way a house has been constructed and its ongoing environmental impact. To gain a high grading on the code many new technologies are often used.

At Phillips we have experience in supplying and installing specialist materials and equipment which can provide a house with a specification which would enable it to reach a high grading the code for sustainable homes.
